Chicago Public Schools Laptop, Email, Anti Virus Rollout (CLEAR)
|
Challenge
Bronner was engaged to deliver a variety of technology training and related services in support of Project CLEAR. Included in our aggressive project plan was the provision to provide basic laptop awareness and web-based email training to Chicago-area high school teachers, principals, and technology coordinators, as well as specific technology training to CPS technical staff. Bronner was also tasked with specific, results-oriented, customized technology training to be delivered in a variety of settings for users that ranged from CPS teachers new to technology to CPS LAN/WAN staff that required technical certification training. Phase II of Project CLEAR was to provide all schools with anti-virus and network management solutions.
Solution
Bronner delivered laptop and WEBMail orientation training and also provided the Central Office Administrative Support, LAN/WAN, and Help Desk employees with technology training including, but not limited to:
- CPS WEBMail
- CPS Networking and Technical Standards
- Microsoft Office XP Network and Operating System Basics
- Microsoft Office XP Installation and Administration
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Installation and Administration
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory Administration
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0
- Trend Micro
- Timbuktu
Bronner also delivered this training to elementary and high school technology coordinators to help them manage the technology advancements occurring within their environments using both hands-on and e-learning training solutions.
Bronner employed a mix of instructor-led and computer-based training to deliver the required services. Courseware offerings were reviewed and selected based on quality and appropriate content. Additional courseware was customized and/or developed in order to address specific CPS needs. Certified instructors provided environment-specific application uses and functionality parameters.
Results
Bronner delivered all required training to the extreme satisfaction of all CPS personnel involved. WEBMail orientation was designed to be effective utilizing the short time periods available for dissemination of critical information. Technical training was provided by highly qualified instructors, many of whom were also technical leads in Project CLEAR implementation efforts. Finally, despite the enormity and complexity of the training tasks at hand, Bronner was able to provide all Project CLEAR required services at a price well below the budgeted work package.
