New tools designed specifically to boost housing agencies
Bronner Group, LLC (Bronner), a nationally recognized professional services firm, today announced the national rollout of
Public Housing Intelligence (PHi), a first-of-its-kind suite of diagnostic tools designed specifically for public housing agencies. PHi provides public housing agencies and related entities with affordable, internet-based self-assessment modules that will identify organizational weaknesses and build management capacity.
“Public housing agencies are drowning in mandates and regulations,” said Gila J. Bronner, chief executive officer of Bronner. “Public Housing Intelligence is 100% focused on helping agencies to run more effective businesses by empowering them to take immediate action.”
PHi includes six targeted diagnostic tools:
PHi – Rapid Risk Assessment and Management (RRAM)
Agencies facing unprecedented scrutiny will measure their own vulnerability and receive expert guidance on how to take proactive steps. The RRAM module gives agencies the power to act before the pressure from auditors.
PHi – Build, Enhance, Sustain and Train (BEST)
Public housing authorities provide a range of programs and services to residents. The BEST module will help agencies evaluate the effectiveness of these programs and provide guidance about how to build new program capacity.
PHi – Measuring and Aligning Programs, Performance and Services (MAPPS)
Like other organizations, public housing authorities strive to constantly improve coordination and performance. The MAPPS module drills-down into the agency’s culture and returns actionable feedback to its leadership team.
PHi – Digitizing the Enterprise and Leveraging Technology Assess (DELTA)
Advances in information technology change on a daily basis. The DELTA module will empower housing agencies to make the most of existing technologies while giving constructive guidance about the constant path to become more “IT savvy.”
PHi – Entrepreneurial and Alternative ReveNew Sourcing (EARNS)
The federal government provides annual funding directly to public housing authorities. However, shrinking federal budgets and growing local needs will force agencies into a hunt for new and non-traditional funding. The EARNS module will help agencies think and work differently to maximize opportunities to attract new funding.
PHi – Fraud Identification Technology and Systems (FITS)
Under pressure to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse, housing authorities have too much data and not enough time. Bronner and LexisNexis® join forces to offer the FITS module, a powerful tool to identify potentially fraudulent activity.
The public housing industry has approximately 3,400 agencies across the United States and these local public housing authorities (PHAs) face a complex set of challenges and mandates. Changes in federal policy affecting these agencies have resulted in organizational changes, leadership turnover, confusion and frustration.
“The goal is simple: give housing leaders a fast, substantive view of their basic management challenges,” said Ed Griffin, chairman of Bronner’s Center for Public Housing Solutions. “I think that
PHi will start a revolution across the public housing industry. For the first time in a long time, these tools will help leaders focus on managing their organizations instead of regulatory hurdles and overwhelming reports.”
